Celebrate the rescued dog at this first-ever party dedicated to those mixed and purebred dogs looking for forever homes. This tented all-weather event will be held at Clark Field in Tremont, right next to the Tremont Dog Park and down the road from the City of Cleveland Kennel.

This is the "other" dog show, one that showcases those dogs who don't come with papers, known histories or perfect coats. They are just as loving and deserving of a good home, and this event is dedicated to each and every one of them, whether they have gone home yet or not.

Owners of these special pooches may attend the event and browse the many tables offering products, services, literature and more. Or they can show off their dogs by entering them in one of the fun contests being organized -- 12 categories ranging from "Best Lab Mix" to "Best Tail/Stub/Butt Wag" to "Best Recovery (Physical or Behavioral)" all dedicated to the theme "All K9s Count," or AK9C.

All friendly dogs (and people) are welcome, but only rescued dogs may enter the contests. A panel of celebrity judges will decide most winners. Attendees will get to pick the winners of the "Best Recovery (Physical)" and "Best Recovery (Behavioral)" categories by voting the day of the event. A variety of prizes from pet-related businesses will be awarded to the winners.
