The spirit of animal rescue is a powerful one.  Animal rescue is all about people coming together to volunteer their time, money, expertise and love of animals to help make a difference.  They work hard to help animals that don’t have a voice, animals that can’t control their situation or destiny. Most importantly, we all help animals that suddenly – through no fault of their own – find themselves homeless. This year, International Homeless Animals Day falls on Saturday, August 15. We are asking you to help us celebrate the efforts of rescuers all around the world and here in Northeast Ohio who tirelessly search for great homes for these animals by participating as a sponsor in the 2nd Annual Great Lakes Brewing Co. RESCUE RAVE.

The 2nd Annual Great Lakes Brewing Co. RESCUE RAVE is an event that embodies the true spirit of animal rescue.  Hosted by Gateway Animal Clinic and Project Noah, the Great Lakes Brewing Co. RESCUE RAVE is a one of a kind event that celebrates the rescuers, the animals that have found their forever homes and the animals that still need our help.

The Great Lakes Brewing Co. RESCUE RAVE will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 11 AM to 3 PM on the Project Noah Landing at Gateway Animal Clinic (overlooking the scenic city of Cleveland skyline).  Numerous rescue organizations and animal shelters from all over NE Ohio will be attending this event to showcase their animals available for adoption.  Attendees can browse the many vendor tables offering products, services, literature and more.

The main event of the day will be The Dog-Gone-Home Show, which will showcase rescue dogs in various categories ranging from “Best Smile ” to “Best Tail/Stub/Butt Wag” and “Best Physical Recovery.  All of the categories of this fun and unique dog show are dedicated to the theme of  “All K9’s Count.”  Celebrity emcees and judges will join in on the fun to help celebrate the spirit of animal rescue.  A panel of celebrity judges will decide most winners. All friendly dogs (and people) are welcome, but only rescued dogs may enter the contests. A variety of prizes from pet-related businesses will be awarded to the winners.

The best part is that all proceeds from the event will benefit the shelters and rescue groups of Northeast Ohio.

This is the "other" dog show, one that showcases those dogs who don't come with papers, known histories or perfect coats. They are just as loving and deserving of a good home, and this event is dedicated to each and every one of them, whether they have gone home yet or not. Owners of these special pooches may attend the event and browse the many tables offering products, services, literature and more. Or they can show off their dogs by entering them in one of the fun contests being organized.

The RESCUE RAVE also will host a mixer for all sponsors, vendors and rescue organizations all weekend long. Join us for the funfilled weekend of great activities to raise money and awareness for homeless pets.
